What is a DTS?
Discipleship Training School (DTS) consists of two parts - Lecture Phase and Outreach Phase. We bring teachers from all over the world to share what it means to be a disciple of Christ, then go to the nations and put everything into practice!
Our greatest desire is that you will experience the love of God in such a way that you will never be the same again.

LECTURE
Oct - Feb
DTS begins in Norway with 3 months of lecture, learning from teachers from all over the world. Teaching is focused on taking you deeper in knowing God and equipping you to make him known. We learn in a classroom setting but also have a good balance of activities every day such as practical work, worship and intercession for the nations, and track times where groups dive into specialized topics. Some of the teaching you will get will be on hearing God's voice, Biblical worldview, and missions.
During lecture phase, you will also get the opportunity to join our ministry team! Throughout the school year, we send a team to travel around Norway, visiting youth groups, churches, and schools, to preach the Gospel, and to ignite the youth of Norway for Jesus. We want to see a generation of Norwegians unashamed of the Gospel, and boldly proclaiming Jesus to their friends, families, classmates, and in the nations.
How will this look with lecture? Your lecture phase will be split into teaching weeks and travelling weeks. You will spend one week in teaching, and then one week travelling. This will go back and forth until you go on outreach. This will give you the opportunity to practice what you've learned as you go! It will give you real world experience with evangelism, sharing the Gospel, and ministering to the youth.
CHRISTMAS BREAK
Take a 3-week break near the end of Lecture Phase! You can go home and share everything you’ve learned with your family, or travel around Norway or Europe for the holidays.
OUTREACH
February - April
Time to put everything we've learning into practice! We spend about 8 weeks in the nations, on a mission to fulfill the Great Commission and to see God's kingdom come.
This will not be the regular tourist experience, but a unique opportunity to go to places most people don’t go to, meet the local people, and experience things that only a few others get the chance to!

We go on outreach to show God’s love to people through words and action.
We have the simple belief that God can use anyone, experienced or inexperienced, to show His heart and be His hands to anyone who needs Him. Our experience is also that in giving we also receive, and in going we keep on growing.

ICELAND
One of the places we invest in as a base is the country of Iceland. During lecture phase, you will get the opportunity to visit this beautiful country! The week you are here you will get a week of teaching, and also time to evangelize and partner with some of the ministries in Iceland.
Iceland is known for its beautiful nature and stunning views. While you are in Iceland, you will get the opportunity to experience and see some some of the nature of Iceland!
BALKANS
We believe there is a missional calling over the nation of Norway! So, multiple times a year our base leads missions trips and brings locals and students to places across Europe and the world. The Explore DTS will join this exciting trip and for one week we will partner with Norwegians to do missions in Serbia! It is so much fun to be part of such a big team and get to see what God is doing in this nation and in Norway. We break into several teams and you will get to experience new perspectives on what missions looks like.
Explore DTS spends an additional two weeks in the Balkans with one week in our outreach teams on a mini outreach and one week of teaching.
NORWAY
Throughout the lecture phase, and after outreach, you will get the opportunity to travel around Norway with our traveling team. On these trips, you will visit youth groups, churches, and schools with the goal of bringing the Gospel to the youth of Norway. With this, you get the opportunity to partner with the vision of YWAM Skien, which is to ignite the youth of Norway for Jesus. To call them to live in friendship with God. And to share Jesus with their school, Norway, and the nations!

* Last years price. Included in the price: All accommodation, food, and travel during the lecture phase and outreach phase, including travels to and from the Balkans, Iceland, and the outreach location.
Not included: Optional internship after DTS, potential costs for necessary vaccines and visa for outreach. This amount can be anywhere between 0 and 7000 NOK, depending on the outreach location and which vaccines you already have. You need your own travel insurance. Flights to and from Norway at the beginning and the end of DTS are not included. We also recommend that you have spare money to use during DTS.
